November 2025 Choice Recap - Wrapping Up the Season
As harvest winds down, our team across FCA and Vision Ag has been working hard to finish the fall season strong. From fertilizer and fuel to feed and grain, every division has played an important role in helping our customers wrap up harvest and prepare for the colder months ahead.
Djamel Khali, General Manager & CEO
The fertilizer market has been steady overall, with phosphates more available than expected and a temporary uptick in NH₃ after one supplier shut down. Anhydrous season is underway and our crews are working to get applications completed on time. We’re proud to have teamed up with local FFA chapters to deliver 300 meals to area farmers during harvest. Ballots for the FCA board election will go out in November, and our annual meeting is set for January 9 in the Amana Colonies.
Nathan Nelson, FCA Propane Manager
Propane customers should top off tanks before winter demand rises — prices have been steady the last 90 days, and there’s still time to fill at summer pricing. There’s also funding available for furnace and water-heater rebates (95%+ furnaces qualify). The rebate application is simple: one-page form, current leak check, and paid invoice. Fun fact: propane is odorless in transit; mercaptan is added at the terminal to give it that recognizable smell.
Kyle Rossman, Richland Vision Ag Manager
As harvest winds down, our team has been busy getting a strong start on fall fertilizer and lime applications. Looking back on this year’s harvest, we saw excellent results and a strong return on investment from fungicide applications. With cooler temperatures settling in, ammonia season is just around the corner. Our equipment is prepped and ready to meet all your application needs. It’s also a great time to start planning for your 2026 seed orders. We’re excited to welcome Justin Siebels, who joined the Richland team on July 1 as a Sales Agronomist. Please reach out to Rick or Justin with any agronomy questions or service needs. Thank you for your continued support of your local cooperative.
Sarah Hora, FCA Grain Originator
Harvest is nearly complete; private estimates show corn at about 72% and soybeans about 84% harvested. The soybean market is reacting to headlines around China’s purchases and reports of potential trade developments — producers and traders are watching closely for stability and export opportunities. Please reach out to Sarah in Ainsworth for grain marketing plans on your newly harvested bushels.
Jeff Bermel, Refined Fuels Manager
We’re running a Winter Bulk Oil Sale from Nov. 1 through Feb. 28, 2026 — for every 100 gallons of Super TMS 15W-40 or QuikLift HTB you buy, you’ll get a $50 Cenex gift card. After Nov. 1, CFI (Cold Flow Improver) will be added to diesel to help prevent gelling down to zero; when temps drop further, Premium #1 fuel will be blended for better cold flow. Call Jason (Stockport), Bob (Douds), or Jeff (Keota) with fuel or lubricant questions.
Andy Weber, FCA Feed Division Manager
Fall has been a good season for getting cattle on feed — we’ve got stress tubs and packs to help receiving calves grow, and several feed options on hand. If you see respiratory issues, check with your veterinarian for treatment. As always, thank you for your business and have a safe November.
Adam Giltner, Batavia Vision Ag Manager
Harvest is wrapping up across the area. We saw southern rust pressure in corn this year and sudden death in soybeans; fungicide applications delivered a strong ROI. Consider Illevo on soybean seed to help with sudden death, grid sampling to place fertilizer where it’s needed, and nitrogen stabilizers like N-serve for anhydrous applications to reduce losses. Thank you for your continued business and support.
We want to thank our customers and members for another successful harvest. Your trust and partnership allow us to do what we do best — serve our local communities and support our members and customers! From all of us at FCA and Vision Ag, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
