From Ellie's Desk: Your October Choice Recap
As combines start rolling across the countryside, the energy of harvest is in full swing. Our FCA and Vision Ag teams are busy keeping things moving—whether it’s grain, fuel, feed, or fall application.
Here are a few highlights from across the cooperative this month:
Fall fertility work is already underway in several areas. With dry spreading happening and NH3 tanks staged, our Vision Ag team is ready to help you build the foundation for next year’s crop. Whether it’s coordinating custom application or getting fertilizer in the ground, we’re here to keep the process running smoothly. —Vision Ag West Regional Manager, Steve Brooks
The fertilizer market continues to be unpredictable, but we are well-positioned for the fall application season. Our financing programs remain popular, helping members secure crop inputs with affordable terms. This month, we’re also proud to support our deployed employees and families with a t-shirt fundraiser—100% of proceeds go toward care packages for their units overseas. —CEO & General Manager, Djamel Khali
On the feed side, it’s booking season. Range Land protein tubs are available at a discount through October, and creep feed supplies are on hand. Financing options are also available through John Deere Financial or CFA, making it easy to plan for fall and winter livestock needs. —Keota Feed Manager, Jeff Sprouse
In Ainsworth, harvest activity has picked up at the elevator, and our Grill at the Mill event is just around the corner. We’ve also added a full line of Hubbard Feeds to our location, alongside our Purina offerings. Plus, seed discounts on Cropland, Dekalb, Brevant, Xitavo, and Wyffels are available through October 15. —Ainsworth FCA & Vision Ag Manager, Brian Wood
Grain markets remain active as harvest progresses, with national crop conditions still strong. Recent USDA purchases of row crop commodities are expected to help establish floor prices. Be sure to check out our updated grain policies and connect with our team for marketing support. —Grain Originator, Sarah Hora
On the energy side, our refined fuels team is preparing for colder weather. Cold Flow Improver is being blended into premium diesel at the pipeline to prevent gelling as temperatures dip, with additional blends ready for extreme cold. —Refined Fuels Manager, Jeff Bermel
And finally, don’t forget the basics—like oil changes. Regular maintenance keeps engines running smoothly and extends equipment life. Broadway Service Center is stocked with Cenex Maxtron full synthetic lubricants and ready to help keep your vehicles in top shape this harvest. —Broadway Service Manager, Dave Hyman
As always, thank you for trusting FCA, Vision Ag, and Broadway Service. We’re proud to serve our members and communities and wish you all a safe, successful harvest season.
See you in the field,
Ellie Bell
