From Ellie's Desk: Your September Choice Recap

Sep 01, 2025

As we turn the page from summer to fall, there’s an energy in the air that only harvest season can bring. Our team at FCA and Vision Ag has been hard at work all summer—filling and maintaining propane tanks, keeping our trucks and equipment in top shape, and preparing to serve you through the busy weeks ahead.

This month, I want to highlight a few updates from across our cooperative.

Our financing programs for 2026 are now available, offering opportunities for early bird rates and flexible options through CFA. These programs are designed to help producers lock in crop inputs with confidence and take advantage of cost savings. For full details and guidance on what fits your operation best, reach out to your local Vision Ag team. —General Manager & CEO, Djamel Khail

On the propane side, our crew has spent the summer filling, leveling, and painting tanks while also completing DOT inspections on bobtails, service trucks, and trailers. Safety and reliability are top priorities for us, ensuring we’re ready to keep deliveries on schedule as demand picks up. With over 90 years of combined experience, our propane team is here to support you through another heating season. —Propane Manager, Nathan Nelson

Grain markets continue to provide plenty to watch as we head into harvest. With national yield estimates rolling in, it’s more important than ever to have plans in place for grain storage, trucking, or selling out of the field. If you’re looking at your options for this fall, don’t hesitate to connect with our Ainsworth office for support. —Grain Originator, Sarah Hora

We’re also excited to share what’s new in our feed division. Hubbard has introduced Rite Fiber Complete, a preconditioning feed designed to support calves with intake, immune health, and digestive stability. It’s a great option whether you’re starting calves in the feed bunk or preparing one for the show ring. Along with our full line of Purina and Hubbard products, we’re here to support your livestock needs this fall. —Feed Division Manager, Andy Weber

Fall application season is also upon us. With crop diseases like Southern Rust and Sudden Death Syndrome making an appearance this year, seed selection, fungicides, and treatments will play an even bigger role in protecting yields. Our agronomy experts are ready to work with you to make the most of next season, and our precision ag offerings can help you maximize fertilizer investments. —Vision Ag Senior Manager, Mark Tinnes

And finally, don’t forget—our Broadway Service Center is now open Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. through harvest to help with service calls, tires, or questions about your combine, wagon, tractor, or tillage equipment. —Broadway Service Manager, Dave Hyman

As always, we’re proud to be members of Agriculture’s Clean Water Alliance (ACWA), working alongside others across Iowa to improve soil health and protect water quality. Together, we’re building stronger communities and better farming for the future.

Thank you for trusting FCA and Vision Ag—we appreciate your support and look forward to serving you this fall. Wishing you and your families a safe and successful harvest season.

See you in the field,
Ellie Bell
